In order to improve acquiring of nursing skills, a simulation and practice facility was installed in Niigata College of Nursing. This research was done to verify weather simulation and practice in the facility worked effectively for student nurses or not. The third grade student nurses of 1999 used this simulation and practice facility, while those of 1998 didn't. The percentages of student nurses who used nursing skills acquired in the college in hospital were calculated. The effect of simulation and practice on student nurses in shown in the comparison of the percentages between the two groups. The results indicated that the group who used the simulation and practice facility improved more than the other group in postoperative treatment and observation in the clinical nursing practicum.},
